From November 29th to December 1st, the 2024 Special Oil New Quality Productivity High Quality Development Seminar and the Joint Annual Meeting of the National Innovation Alliance of the Southern Woody Oil Industry of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration (hereinafter referred to as the "Woody Oil Alliance") and the National Innovation Strategic Alliance of the Flaxseed Oil and Omega-3 Oil Industry of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration (hereinafter referred to as the "Flaxseed Oil Alliance") were held in Changsha, hosted by the Hunan Academy of Forestry Sciences (Economic Forest Research Institute), the Woody Oil Branch of the China Economic Forest Association, and Maiande Group Co., Ltd. Chen Minggao - Secretary of the Party Committee of Hunan Academy of Forestry Sciences

Xiao Zhihong, Director of the Economic Forest Research Institute of Hunan Academy of Forestry, presented the 2024 work report on behalf of the Woody Oilseed Alliance. He said, "Currently, woody oilseeds in China are in a period of rapid development. Oil tea has introduced a three-year action plan, and Hunan has benefited greatly from national policy guidance. Hunan Academy of Forestry has national and provincial scientific and technological innovation platforms such as the National Oil Tea Engineering Center and the Yuelu Mountain Laboratory Forestry Area, which is a key focus of the provincial party committee and government. The high-level development of woody oil plants plays an important role in ensuring the stability of national grain and oil supply and the health of the people. We look forward to the academicians, experts and entrepreneurs attending the meeting today to speak out, actively offer advice and suggestions for the development of woody oil plants, and use the newly established official media platforms such as the WeChat official account of the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau to actively release new technologies, new achievements and new equipment, so as to achieve accurate delivery of scientific and technological information of woody oil industry. Xiao Zhihong - Secretary General of the Woody Oil Alliance

Lu Hailong, Chairman of the Flaxseed Oil Alliance, delivered a work report for 2024 on behalf of the alliance. He stated that the flaxseed oil, omega-3 oil, oil tea and other woody oil industries provide strong support for maintaining the national grain and oil supply chain. Omega-3 oil, represented by linolenic acid, has a significant effect on regulating the human immune system and preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases! China has abundant woody oil resources, with an oil content of over 40%, which is an important source of high-quality edible vegetable oil. Its planting areas have the characteristics of not competing with farmers for land or humans for food. The alliance should strengthen cooperation with the woody oilseed industry alliance, enhance research and development in the planting, production, and equipment of flaxseed and oil tea industries, establish an energy-saving, efficient, and green production system using digital technology, fully tap into the advantages of various woody oilseeds, and form a batch of high-level scientific research achievements Provide comprehensive services for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and build an integrated platform for scientific and technological innovation, talent cultivation, and industrial decision-making consulting.

Lu Hailong - Chairman of the Flaxseed Oil Alliance

He Dongping, President of the Oil and Fat Branch of the China Grain and Oil Association, said: "Recently, the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the 'Action Plan for Grain Conservation and Anti Food Waste'. The Oil and Fat Branch of the China Grain and Oil Association has also attached great importance to food security and advocated the social trend of 'practicing thrift and opposing waste'. According to China's current oil and fat production, there is still a significant gap in China's oil self-sufficiency rate, and the situation of grain and oil supply is still urgent. After 10 years of development, the Flaxseed Oil Alliance has formed a relatively complete mechanism for industry university research collaboration, achieved many research results, and facilitated many technological collaborations. In the future, we need to strengthen exchanges with the Woody Oil Alliance in resource flow, technological innovation, and other aspects. He Dongping - President of the Oil and Fat Branch of the China Grain and Oil Society

Huang Xiangdong pointed out that Hunan Province has a forest area of 189 million mu, a wetland area of 20.46 million mu, and a grassland area of 2.1 million mu, accounting for 66.76% of the province's total area. The forest coverage rate has reached 53.15%, the forest stock volume has reached 660 million cubic meters, and the comprehensive vegetation coverage of grassland has reached 86.59%, making it a well-known forestry and grassland province. By last year, the planting area of oil tea had reached 23.27 million mu, the annual output of tea oil had reached 320000 tons, ranking among the top in the country, and the output value had reached 77.3 billion yuan. Jin Zhengyu, academician of the CAE Member, made a report titled "Disruptive Technology Convergence Drives Food Industry Change". He explained that disruptive technology is an innovative approach to traditional production techniques, characterized by foresight, substitutability, and concealment. It mainly comes from positive breakthroughs, reverse thinking, and cross-border applications, among which cross-border applications are the main source of disruptive technology in the food industry. In the future, the fields of human-computer interaction, biomimetics, electronic computers, biomedical and biological intersection, printing and materials, and breaking through the boundaries of technological resources will all be the main directions of disruptive technologies. Intelligent food manufacturing, the application of gut microbiota in food, precise nutrition in food, and food perception science and technology have all begun to be applied in the food industry and have broad development prospects in the future.

Researcher Li Changzhu from Hunan Academy of Forestry Sciences gave a report on "Systematic Methods and Nutritional and Health Effects Material Basis for Oil Tea Resource Mining", focusing on the deep mining and extension of the oil tea resource industry chain. He elaborated on the opportunities for high-quality development of the oil tea industry and the challenges it faces, such as low product added value and increasing labor costs year by year; An analysis was conducted on the in-depth exploration of high oil content and active substance components in oil resources, and the construction of an innovative system for woody oil active products; And interpreted the technological innovation and theoretical application prospects of preserving the nutritional and health components of woody oilseeds in the future.

Li Changzhu - Hunan Academy of Forestry Sciences

Professor Liu Guoqin from South China University of Technology presented a report on the effect of omega-6/omega-3 PUFAs intake ratio on high-fat induced LDs accumulation and the regulation of lipid metabolism to improve NAFLD. Against the backdrop of significant changes in the dietary structure of modern society, she explored the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Through extensive scientific research conducted by the team, it has been found that consuming omega-6 and omega-3 in scientific proportions has a positive effect on LDs accumulation, inflammation inhibition, and alleviation of insulin resistance.

Liu Guoqin - South China University of Technology

Xue Yalin, a researcher at the Scientific Research Institute of the National Grain and Material Reserves Administration, gave a report on "Interpretation of Quality Control and Testing Methods for Characteristic Oilseeds" with the theme of grain and oil quality control. She interpreted and analyzed the quality control, testing methods, and the newly released GB 44917-2024 "Hygienic Requirements for Bulk Transportation of Edible Vegetable Oils", as well as the quality requirements for good grain and oil and flaxseed oil in China.

Xue Yalin - Scientific Research Institute of National Grain and Material Reserve Bureau

Professor Deng Qianchun from the Oil Crop Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences gave a report on the current situation and innovative exploration of the characteristic oil processing industry. He introduced the main distribution areas and yields of Camellia oleifera, flaxseed, and walnut from the perspective of the development background of the characteristic oil industry. He summarized the industry bottleneck problems of multiple types of characteristic oil, insufficient processing and utilization, low oil yield, small industrialization scale, and lack of a complete standard system. He also provided effective solutions for deep processing to solve the above problems.

Professor Wang Jianhui from Changsha University of Science and Technology gave a keynote report on the antibacterial activity of Sichuan pepper essential oil and its potential application in oral health. He analyzed the development prospects and trends of woody oil essential oils and proved the close relationship between green Sichuan pepper and red pepper essential oils and oral health through extensive experiments.

Wang Jianhui - Changsha University of Science and Technology

Under the background of high incidence rate of cardiovascular diseases, associate professor Chen Shuai of Wuhan University introduced the physical and chemical properties and functions of phytosterols, reviewed the technology of preparing phytosterols by crystallization, column chromatography and molecular distillation, looked forward to the trend and prospect of phytosterols in the future oil industry, and made a keynote report on the preparation, detection, biological activity and delivery system of phytosterols.

Chen Shuai - Wuhan University

Engineer Qi Kunzheng from Henan Subcritical Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. stated that after 35 years of development, subcritical extraction technology has been continuously improved through cooperation with numerous universities and enterprises. It has now obtained 65 invention patents and has been widely applied in engineering practice. Subcritical technology has won multiple awards from the National Grain Administration, including the first prize for scientific and technological progress, due to its characteristics of ensuring the nutritional content of oil to a large extent and mild process parameters.

Professor Peng Hong from Nanchang University gave a report on the functional characteristics, applications, and production technologies of glycerol diesters. She delved into the characteristics and metabolic mechanisms of glycerol diesters, and explained in detail their applications in the food industry and the advantages of different production technologies.

The report "Research on Steady State Mechanism and Innovative Development and Application of Natural Vegetable Oil Body" by Professor Xu Duoxia of Beijing Technology and Business University described the research progress of natural vegetable oil body, and exchanged and discussed new strategies for nutrition enhancement of vegetable oil body food, gel structure, fat replacement, food oral friction, and new mechanisms and new technologies for low-carbon green preparation of vegetable oil body.
